French Rosewood and Gilt Bronze Chair By Jeanselme
This wonderful French armchair is of the highest quality, made and stamped by the maker Jeanselme. His workshop was founded in Paris in 1824. He worked together with his brother between 1824 to 1840 and were cabinet makers to Napoleon III.
I bought this chair unrestored. After gently cleaning the rosewood frame work to revive the frame I then moved onto the upholstery. Re using the original horsehair and stuffing I re upholstered the chair and finished it with a beautiful striped duck egg blue French silk.
